Christmas Party

Our class party will be at 12:05 on Wednesday, December 21, right after lunch recess. Parents who plan on attending, please send Miss Frank a note so we know how many helpers we have. If you have a glue gun, please bring it! We will be creating crafts from recycled materials. Please keep the items coming in: jars, fabric, ribbons, lids, yarn, buttons, garland, and anything else you think may work!

We have a good start on supplies, but need more! Thank you to all, especially the moms planning the event!

Thank You!

We would like to thank everyone who has donated to the classroom, especially the Mays family for the games and movies. We have had fun with them at indoor recess. Thanks again to the Russell family for the reading tub. Also, thanks to Caeden's grandfather for all the great puzzles! We have finished one with 300 pieces and will soon be working our way up to the 550 puzzles. Thanks to the Gullings family and the PTO for all the great outside recess equipment! Of course thank you to all the families who sent in tissues, wipes, and baggies. Finally, thank you to everyone who has sent in graham crackers. They really help when someone forgets their snack! We are a lucky group to have so many great people.

Snack Time!

Each morning we have snack and Miss Frank reads from a chapter book. Students should bring their own snack to school each day. Donations throughout the year of a box or two of graham crackers for students who forget their snack would really help out. Everyone has been great about sending in the games, tissues, wipes, and baggies that were asked for. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

New Books!

Today I took a break from the classroom to do one of my favorite activities: Shopping! Besides picking up various supplies for our room, I also went to the local bookstore. You can see from the picture I had a lot of fun! I inherited a ton of books from other teachers, but I wanted these to give the collection some new life. Thank you to the PTO for the money they give to classrooms. It will help pay for this. I got some great ideas from some librarians, teachers, and parents at LibraryThing, and of course from the helpful people at the bookstore. Each day in class we will have SSR (Sustained Silent Reading) time. I would like students who come to the open house next week to pick out their SSR book then, so we don't have a big crowd at the bookcase on the first day of school. You can see some of our classroom library books at the bottom of this page. Many of these new ones are series, so students, let me know if they are good and I will get more!

School Supplies

When I was a kid I loved going school supply shopping with my family. When I got home I unpacked everything and organized it all on my bed. Maybe that should have been a big sign that I was meant to be a teacher!

All fourth grade students are asked to bring the following supplies to school:

“Toolbox” , (cardboard or plastic) to hold school supplies

2 glue sticks

1 box Kleenex

1 box ZIPLOCK bags

Lysol wipes

1 one subject notebook

1 pair of scissors

I would also like students in my class to please have these things on hand throughout the year:

Markers and/or crayons

Erasers
Extra pencils
Bottle of Glue

Lastly, I am keeping a wish list on the right hand side of the blog for things we need for the classroom. Thank you!
